More details are starting to pop up about Jermaine Jones and his DQ and exit from American Idol tonight. Originally reported as 2 arrest warrants, news is starting to pop up that Jermaine actually has five warrants out for his arrest in New Jersey!
Some of the charges involve narcotics, open containers and false identities (used during one arrest to hide from other warrants.)
What gets interesting, and I have to say, not totally unbelievable, is that the source article touches on whether Fox actually knew about this and still let him on American Idol to help boost ratings for the evening. It befuddles the sources quoted because Fox is known for a very good, in-depth background review process. And as any reality TV viewer would know, most of these shows do seem to ALWAYS have something pop up during a season to make things exciting.
There are other details popping up also... like, mixed news reports that contrast the "sad, no father around" story.
Oops.
But now on to the REAL question of the day... with Jones heading home (more than likely jail), will there be an elimination tonight or will they accept the vacant space of Jones' as the eliminated contestant.
If they still send someone home, then my suspicions will lie with this all being a TV ratings plot! Plain and simple! I say that because if Jones goes home, then that would be the eliminated spot. If they still go through with eliminating someone, I'd argue that his exit outside the normal voting process was anticipated and they still have to thin the crowd of hopeful American Idol singers!
