Syfy's 'Leprechaun's Revenge' Was Painful To Watch

I tuned into Leprechaun's Revenge that was airing on Syfy channel, thinking I might get treated to something halfway interesting.

(The looked like they saw this movie too...
oh, wait, this is a still from the movie!)

After watching the movie for an hour, I still wasn't sure why "it" was killing everyone, or did we need a why?  Ah, found the plot summary and it told me why:

"An evil leprechaun who has been imprisoned within the roots of a majestic old oak tree, is accidentally set loose on St. Patrick's Day. Once free, he takes out his bloody revenge on the descendants of the people who originally imprisoned him."

Did I did not miss something.  But if you stuck around, part of the back story is given to the hapless viewer one hour and nine minutes into the movie.  SO if you tuned out being confused, well, you had good reason.

With the name power of Billy Zane, William Devane and the teen cuteness of Courtney Halverson, I thought this would at least have some kind of entertainment value.

But as the movie opened, a bunch of fragmented scenes were tossed at us.  What I pieced together was that Karen O'hara (Halverson) was attacked in the woods by some evil looking leprechaun that looked more like a minor demon from any other movie.

I thought leprechauns were short, cuter and green.  Or more green.

The editing was just outright weird and the dialog felt jilted... like it was all in short-hand and you weren't in the secret society that can understand it.  And in the first half, there was an annoying local blogger chasing down all the events.

Oh thank god...  the leprechaun stole a car and ran over the blogger.  That shut him up.  (No, seriously!!!)

Usually I can find the Syfy Twitter accounts going off during their movies... but nada... incognito and out of sight for this one!  Can't blame them.

Yes... apparently I did watch it...  but I was doing other stuff and just never changed the channel.  Then again, I would have missed one of the best lines of the movie... Billy Zane's character is talking to teen-cutie daughter, spilling his guts about his shortcomings...  like how he lost his wife in a shopping mall on Black Friday and that he's missing a letter on his name tag.  I. Am. Serious!  Best convo in the movie and I had to sit through almost all of it get to it.

Of course, then the leprechaun killed him and cut him in half.

Our heroine finally did nail her demon and they did air a clip of the upcoming season of Destination Truth, premiering "This Summer."
