This weekend, all industry experts were predicting a bad opening for the Taylor Kitsch starring movie, John Carter. The estimates were downgraded to a $25M opening weekend just before the weekend got here.
But John Carter wasn't too far behind, having pulled in an estimated $30M. Overseas, John Carter pulled in an additional $70M. Not incredible, but I'm glad to see Disney pulling some money back for their investment.
Aside from these two top-10 movies nothing else compared. But if you must know, Project X was third at the box office, pulling in $11M.
Silent House pulled in $7M in its opening weekend and A Thousand Words with Eddie Murphy, saw some $6M added to it's opening day coffers.
