SERIES PREMIERES
AIRPORT 24/7: MIAMI
TV-PG
Premiering Tuesday, October 2 at 9:00PM & 9:30PM
New episodes will continue Tuesdays at 9:00PM
"Airport 24/7: Miami" is an all-access pass inside the intense and dramatic world of Miami International Airport, told through larger-than-life characters whose jobs it is to keep one of America's largest airports running around the clock. MIA is considered a Category X airport, a prime target for a terrorist attack. With nearly 40 million passengers a year it's an airport the size of a small city. Something is always going to happen. Fuel fires, smuggling rings, medical emergencies, sting operations, aircraft malfunctions and much more. Think you know life in an airport? You haven't seen anything yet!
Tuesday, October 2 9:00PM
"The Passenger" A TSA officer intercepts a firearm tucked inside a carry-on bag through the checkpoint x-ray. Tensions rise as the passenger is questioned by the Miami-Dade Police Department and they determine that he is neither a U.S. citizen nor does he have a firearms permit. Meanwhile, MIA staffers and the Lufthansa team have just over two hours to turn over the largest passenger aircraft in the world. But when Customs and Border Protection makes a surprise inspection, everyone is caught off guard. As a result, the jet may not take off in time and 500 passengers may be delayed. Finally, TSA intercepts a potential terrorist when an officer spots a knife deliberately hidden in the sole of a sneaker. The passenger also has three forms of ID and is of Middle Eastern descent. A full-scale security response is issued to investigate.
Tuesday, October 2 9:30PM
"Upside of Danger" A driver comes within inches of his life when his car flips over outside the terminal. Initial reports indicate he has suffered severe head trauma, and the prognosis does not look good. This is where the search begins to find out who the victim is and who is waiting for him at arrivals. Meanwhile, Customs and Border Protection's Anti Terrorism and Contraband Enforcement Team hones in on a shipment of tractor parts originating in South America, traveling through Miami onto Africa. The K-9 Unit discovers a cache of cocaine in the least likely place. Finally, Security Director Lauren Stover arranges to help a young lady surprise her boyfriend - a soldier who is returning from his tour of duty in Afghanistan - by meeting him at the gate. But an even bigger surprise awaits when the plan is turned around.
Tuesday, October 9 9:00PM
"Category X" Miami International Airport is a Category X Airport, which means it's at the highest risk for terrorist attacks. When an incoming flight squawks a hijack code to the tower, it triggers a full-blown SWAT response. The drama intensifies when the pilot refuses to open the door. Meanwhile, Ericka handles a disgruntled passenger who claims she missed her flight and lost her bags. As the drama gets more colorful, Ericka calls in her boss, Dickie to help resolve the situation. Then, all airside units respond to an emergency landing when an A330 aircraft reports hydraulic problems. The crisis creates a domino effect for both passengers and airport workers, which ripples into the next day when 600 passengers from two flights attempt to check-in simultaneously. Heidi and Darius arrive on the scene only to face a mob of angry passengers.
Tuesday, October 16 9:00PM
"Catch a Thief" Law enforcement agencies come together at Lauren Stover's monthly "Knucklehead Report" to identify a baggage thief on the loose at MIA. With a zero tolerance policy for theft, MDPD plans to run two sting operations to catch the thieves targeting MIA. Meanwhile, Dickie Davis must deal with two very angry and highly emotional passengers whose luggage has gone missing. The couple has spent the last two days at the airport searching for their lost luggage and still has come up empty handed. Outside the terminal, the Police set up the first sting operation using a wallet with $300 in cash to catch people coming to the airport just to steal. Undercover agents spring into action when a male and female attempt to steal the cash. Later, MDPD spots their baggage thief while running an undercover surveillance. When he tries to strike again, a full-scale pursuit ensues.
Tuesday, October 23 9:00PM
"Air Force One" Law enforcement and MIA staffers ratchet up security for Air Force One's arrival to MIA. No one is certain when the President will arrive, but when he does the airfield goes into a complete lockdown. That means no flights can depart and no flights can land - everything comes to a complete standstill. Security K-9s are sniffing for explosives while snipers are positioned on the airfield. Secret Service, MDPD, CBP, TSA, FBI and MIA Security are all in position and ready to take action to ensure the President's safe arrival. Meanwhile, a swarm of bees infiltrates a gate, halting planes from moving in the area - including the soon-to-arrive Air Force One. A bee handler is called in and suits up to carefully vacuum up the bees. Later, a car crashes into the canal leaving the driver shaken and the vehicle totaled. At the same time, tensions are running high when five passengers scheduled to catch an international flight are stuck in an elevator. Amid the chaos, a new airline, Interjet is scheduled to take their inaugural flight but the President's arrival causes concern that they may not be able to depart. Celebrities, executives and press are all ready to board the opening flight when word comes that a lock down is imminent. A delay on Interjet will be an embarrassment to MIA and bad for business. Will they make it?
Tuesday, October 30 9:00PM
SEASON FINALE: "Fuel Fire" A massive fuel spill in a hangar puts fire rescue and hazmat teams on high alert as they attempt to stem the highly explosive fuel from draining into tunnels underneath the airport, which could combust if the fuel is not contained quickly. Meanwhile, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) keep close watch for illegal contraband arriving from Cuba, like cigars and rum as well as fruits and vegetables that can bring pests, diseases and infestation to U.S. crops. CBP uncovers a large amount of concealed pills while performing inspections on the ramp. The CBP officer follows the bag inside to identify and question the bag's owner. Then, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) rushes to a massive explosion at the fuel farm. The blaze escalates to a full-blown towering inferno because the exposed fuel lines are feeding the fire. MDFR foam trucks struggle to keep up with the blaze, but are unable to get it under control. When the emergency shut-off valve fails, there is one last resort – someone ventures into the blaze, finds the valves to the fuel lines and manually shut them off. This is extremely dangerous, but the Fuel Farm Manager takes this chance. With adrenaline coursing though his body he risks his own life to save the airport from devastation!

But Anthony Bourdain only wishes that he could enjoy his time more in this Brazilian paradise as he nervously awaits his wife, Octavia's, fighting match. She practices jiu jitsu and kickboxing, and has been training to compete in Brazil. To get his mind off the fight, Bourdain heads to Ipanema for three things – to get hammered on caipirinhas, to look at beautiful Brazilian bodies and to eat a pork sandwich. While in Brazil, he visits Rocinha, the other side of paradise and the largest of Rio's favela shantytowns, where hundreds of thousands live in poverty. But changes are being made; longtime community activist and incorrigible flirt, Paulo, is Bourdain's guide to the slowly improving neighborhood. After Octavia's match, she and Bourdain join her competitor, Valkiria and her trainer for dinner at his mother's house.
