When NCIS returned from its mid-season break, it came back like gangbusters.
This week's episode, the 2nd since its return from the break, drew in 22.34 million viewers, making this its second-biggest audience in the 10 years that the show has been airing.
The events taking place in NCIS are earth shattering for several of the characters and shocking to watch. (I'm being vague to not spoil anything for DVR viewing fans.)
And all the numbers are not in yet. That's because TV ratings that you hear about are a combination of factors. Early overnight numbers are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback, which includes the show being replayed before 3 a.m. the following night. 46% of Nielsen households have DVRs. You do the math.
