Why Was the TNT TV Schedule Messed Up This Weekend? (6-29/30-13)

Last night (Saturday, 6-29-13) I had turned on The Transporter 3, or at least I had clicked on the item on my Comcast menu.  But instead, I ended up watching The Hero and 72 Hours.

Right now my Comcast menu schedule shows that I should be watching Falling Skies and then some Law and Order.  Instead, I have a NASCAR race on.

As you may all know, I never complain about a NASCAR race, but for many of you, I am betting it's quite the grievance.

And that IS why the schedule was messed up all weekend, NASCAR.

Turns out that NASCAR was supposed to have a Saturday night race telecast from Sparta, Kentucky.  But rather than a race, we had a huge rain delay. Mother nature was flexing her muscles and showing off that no man or sport is bigger than she is.

The telecast, as is true to form, stuck around through the rain delay.  And through it all, they kept saying they would get the race going soon.

They have to say that, even when the weather radar says something else.  Something about sponsors, ads and keeping the TV viewers engaged on the telecast, thus the targeted ads would still be reaching that intended target audience.

But when the NASCAR telecast ran over too long, or short, depending on the event, TNT just picked up their telecast schedule at an odd spot.  And they stayed with it.

The menu on Comcast is subject to what Comcast receives from the network, and it seemed the network did not update their schedule.

Now, (Sunday, 6-30-13), TNT is airing the rain-delayed race.  So your TV schedule for the day is going to be even more messed up.

I have no clue if they're going to adjust on-the-fly to air their Sunday night schedule, but I presume they might.  If not, well, it's NASCAR and the demographic draw it has on viewers that have caused this to happen.

I thought you'd like to know.
