(Stop! I don't need anyone's help!)
I don't get why we keep seeing news or blog articles on the issue of why no other Avenger came to the aid of Tony Stark in Iron Man 3, or as I like to call it, the "Shell Game of The Mandarin." If you're going to ask that question, you might as well as the question why no one else from any SHIELD resource wasn't pulled in to help Tony in the first two IM movies.

Any long time comic fan knows how each character has their own title, along with the cross-over titles and group titles. So we get it.
But I would think that most any other movie fan is intelligent enough to know that there are things that require our attention, as an individual. And there are things that require our attention, in a group.
As is the case with Tony Stark and the Avengers.
To be honest...
When the entire Earth is attacked by aliens, by all means, this should require SHIELD, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and any other super-powered entity they can get their hands on to deal with it. It makes sense. (Well, any character that Disney/Marvel has retained the rights to. Which is sad that we didn't see other characters step up when the entire planet was threatened, but there's that legal/profit issue with naming rights and it's no surprise Fox didn't play nice.)
In Iron Man 3, post Avengers and New York alien attack, we're looking in on the life and times of Tony Stark's day-to-day events once again, just like we did in Iron Man and Iron Man 2.
And had Tony and Rhodes failed in stopping Killian, then he would have become more of a global threat and SHIELD would probably have stepped up. But that's just my guess where the story could have gone, post Stark era.
Additionally, all of our heroes are like-minded type-A jocks. Meaning they aren't going to call out for help from anyone else at the first sign of any kind of trouble. They can handle it themselves. Especially someone as egotistically driven as Tony Stark is.
Does this not make sense folks?
What sparked this? There's a news bit I saw from a site that says Avengers Age of Ultron will have an explanation why no one came to Tony Stark's aid in Iron Man 3.
Why would they have to? It's done. But I suppose, if a studio feels the need to pander to a certain demographic that will help promote the profit bottom line, I suppose this could happen, as they have to keep the masses happy.
That's that.
