Turns out that back around the August 2013 time frame, it was reported that Eads would be taking a leave of absence. But only for several episodes in the first half of the season.
Turns out that he got into an argument with one of the series writers because he was disgruntled about the direction his character is taking.
So when Catherine shows up and says that Nick is training off in Quantico for something. (Code for 'this actor in deep $!!!)
Eads was fired once before from CSI in 2004 for trying to squeeze CBS for more money.
What is it with this show and how folks pass through the production hallways of CBS and CSI? Right now, the only original cast members that have been in the production since day one include Eads (If he comes back), Paul Guilfoyle (Brass) and Eric Szmanda (Sanders).
No hard set date has been mentioned for when exactly Eads will be returning.
Odd? Yep... how many actors you know throw a fit and then stick around for any amount of time in the show.
On the bright side, if you're a CSI fan, the turnover of cast helps keep production costs down, not forcing the show to be cancelled, like CSI Miami and New York was.
