'Man of Steel 2' Rumors, Hopes and More

Today I was sparked to pursue some movie news rumors on Man of Steel 2 because I came across a piece that the usually stalwart io9 got messed up on.  It seems they got a little ahead of themselves when they put out a report on what they called rumors about Wonder Woman's movie debut, when in fact, I can't help but wonder how they made such a mistake.

Their report was based on information from a site called Batman-on-Film, but when you look at what they quote, it's obvious this IS NOT NEWS or RUMOR at all.  It's akin to when a website says they're talking about "end-credit scene spoilers," then spoil a HUGE plot point from the middle of Thor 2 in the process.  But that's splitting hairs with stupid logic.

In the io9 report, they quote BoF but when you look at the quotes, you'll see that the original author is merely speculating himself, with no source.

"    Personally, I'd say it'll be about on par with Scarlett Johansson's first appearance as Black Widow in IRON MAN 2. I believe that it's a cameo-plus type of role that will (hopefully) serve as a springboard to a solo Wonder Woman movie.

    With all that said, I'd bet a year's pay – in MONOPOLY money, of course – that the "Amazons" of this cinematic DCU will be descendants of those "ancient Kryptonians" who attempted to set up Kryptonian outposts throughout spacedom thousands and thousands of years ago.

    Furthermore, I say that Wonder Woman will be powered-down, if you will, relative to Superman because these Amazons have evolved and adapted to living on Earth for hundreds of centuries. And since Kryptonians are produced without any "He'n and She'n" – Jor El and Lara excluded – couldn't this original Kryptonian on Earth have used this reproductive science to create an all-female race? I say yes!"

You can see where they might have become excited about some excellent theories.  And the website is known for having great information on various films, but in this case, oops.

As much as I want to take guesses, I have to keep in mind that the powers to be behind Man of Steel 2 (tentatively titled Batman vs Superman) have their plots and plans in place.  (That being director Zack Snyder and writer David Goyer.)


The source put out a stern correction to what folks were reporting on, but none the less...

Since we're chatting up News and Rumors on Man of Steel 2,

Gal Gadot will be playing Wonder Woman in the movie;

She'll have armor instead of that stupid ass teeny bikini from Hooters;

Supposedly we might be seeing a Green Lantern, played by Denzel Washington?

Also the persistent rumor is that Bryan Cranston might be playing Lex Luthor.  (This one has been persisting ever since Breaking Bad came to a close.)

Then there's this funny bullsh*! going on where during an interview, Gail Gadot was asked if she is too skinny (AKA small breasted) for the part of Wonder Woman.

Idiot question, but Gail had a great reply:

"I represent the Wonder Women of the new world. Breasts… anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine. By the way, Wonder Woman is amazonian, and historically accurate amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I’d really go “by the book”…it’d be problematic."

I'm liking her already.
