New movies Opening This Week on Friday, January 24, include an ages old monster from classic literature. It's the only national opening movie this weekend that's not in limited release mode.

Well, I'm guessing if you enjoyed the Underworld film franchise, then you'll be fine with this movie. Do you remember Raze from Underworld, the deep-voiced human/werewolf? That actor (Kevin Grevioux) wrote the story that Beattie created the screenplay from (and also directed).
Beattie's resume includes the drunken character movies, Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise. He also contributed to the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie and 30 Days of Night film.
This will be his second directorial effort, his first having been Tomorrow, When the War Began.
