It was inevitable after the season finale of The Biggest Loser, that winner Rachel Fredrickson has already started defending her appearance in the finale.
She looked so bad, that qhen she came out on stage, even two of the trainers looked shocked. Bad, meaning she looked bulimic of an anorexic. At 5'5" tall, she weighed in at 105 pounds.
In interviews, she's avoiding directly answering questions about her gaunt look, but rather, reaffirming that she eats five times a day and maintaining a 1600 calorie diet.
But then there's a rather telling statement released by Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper.
During the finale, they looked openly shocked! You can see Jillian mouthing "Oh my god."
They said that,
"Bob and I want to take a moment to congratulate all of the BL contestants on their hard work. We're not comfortable commenting on Rachel's journey because [we] weren't her trainers and weren't given any opportunity to work with her at any point. Any questions about the contestants on the Biggest Loser should be directed to the show's producers."
If they had anything good to say, I'd think they would have said it today. Instead, it was a very polite redirect, and I haven't seen anything from Dolvett, Rachel's trainer.
His Twitter or Facebook account, at this point in time, are eerily quiet. And I'm not seeing anything around the web about him.
Now admittedly, I'm seeing for and against commentary for Rachel. There are just as many folks supporting her look, while others think she went too far.
For me, her arms look gaunt, like she's a starving waif. Her face looks odd, with her eyes looking sunken in, other features of her face look odd, like her face is just a skull. And I'm not being mean, it's just how she looks to me.
So that's that for the moment. Time will be the telling factor here, and how much weight she may or may not put back on.
But I think this is a huge punch in the guy for the show, The Biggest Loser, and what they try to stand for, as far as healthy weight management.

Ah, UPDATE: Dolvett did say something but it was on Instagram...
"Biggest Loser is a journey which has its ups and downs. Please try not to look at one slice of Rachel's journey and come to broad conclusions. Rachel's health is and always has been my main concern and her journey to good health has not yet ended."
