The official HD trailer for the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes prequel is upon us. And it tells a tale of what's to come in the movie like no other. (This is the sequel to the first prequel film.)
We see how Caesar wants to live in peace, has emotions and great memories of his early life and even has what appears (in the beginning) to be compassion or understanding. We hear a snippet of how the Simian Flu killed humans, and we see how people can be, well, people, in the quagmire of personal loss. Or just fear of the unknown.
The trailer is doing its marketing job and it's got my imagination spinning into a state of anticipation. I enjoyed the first one, barring the impules to not nit-pick the stupid little details that some folk focused on. (Loved the Easter eggs in that one)
And I can't wait to see this one.
About Dawn of the Planet of the Apes:
"A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species."
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Felicity) and stars
Andy Serkis as Caesar
Judy Greer as Cornelia (Man, what isn't Judy in these days?)
Angela Kerecz
Gary Oldman (Angry, spiteful human who hates the apes apparently.)
Keri Russell
Toby Kebbell as Koba
Jason Clarke (He's good in everything he does)
Kodi Smit-McPhee
Kevin Rankin
Keir O'Donnell
Kirk Acevedo
and is due out in theaters on Jul 11, 2014.
