One of those fascinating characters, whose nickname is Crazy Eyes, is the character named Suzanne Warren, played by Uzo Aduba.
To be honest with you, I was hoping to spell out a fantastic career building up the Netflix series hit, but with a few one-up appearances and a few short films, Uzo has quietly showed up on the scene when she landed the role of Crazy Eyes from a 2012 audition, and has endeared herself to fans because of that role.
Her very first TV appearance was in 2012 on Blue Bloods in a guest appearance role for an episode. Then in 2013, she showed up on OITNB.
In the first season of OITNB, she demonstrated a frightening attraction to the character of Piper (Taylor Schilling), but through time, we've learned about her past, her true level of intelligence and just how she fits in to the world of prison life.
Uzo has truly made Crazy Eyes a fan favorite for sure.
For portraying this character, Uzo has won

• Won, Critics' Choice TV Award

She was born in Boston, MA and is the daughter of Nigerian parents. She graduated from Medfield High School in 1999 and attended Boston University, where she studied classical voice and competed in track and field.
Here's a tidbit: She auditioned for a role in OITNB and a month later later her agent called her saying she did not get the part she auditioned for, but the producers thought she'd be good for the "Crazy Eyes" part.
I had mentioned she competed in track and field, and just recently she ran the Boston Marathon in just over five hours. (She previously ran the TCS New York City back in 2013) Ubo ran the Boston Marathon on behalf of Dana Farber and helped raise over $4,000 for the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge Team from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In fact Ubo is surrounded by this insidious disease in her family.
She's lost an aunt (leukemia) and a cousin (breast cancer) and another aunt is presently battling breast cancer. It's insidious as it strikes 1 in 8 women.

To be honest, I look forward to Uba's portrayal of Suzanne and any other role she may end up playing in the future. But for now, I'll enjoy the serious kind of crazy she puts out.
Below is a crazy compilation of scenes with Uzo. Be warned, it's prison life and this four-minute clip does not hold back on a few scenes or with language. Technically, yea, NSFW. (Turn it down a touch.) It's the only one I could find where someone did not hold a camera up to their TV. (Man I thought we were over those days!)
