Independence Day: Resurgence (Yes, a sequel) is getting a comic book

Just in case you did not know, a sequel to Independence Day is being made and it will be called Independence Day: Resurgence.

Roland Emmerich will direct the sequel, with some new and old cast in this film:

Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

It is due out in June of 2016.

But to catch you up on events that have taken place between the film from 20 years ago and this next one, a comic will come out covering events spanning the time between the two films.

That is all. No other details have been released yet. Just the comic tease.

I've seen comic prequels or connecting comic titles work well with some movies, so hey, who knows.
