Another week has gone by and AMC is keeping the tension high by intentionally not addressing the fate of Glenn on The Walking Dead.
Which means yet another week goes by where AMC is, in my opinion, trying this test to see if not hearing about Glenn will draw in more viewers as we keep wondering.
Or... AMC does not give a f*k about you and by keeping us in the dark about Glenn's final fate, is pretty much just saying f*k you.
'The Walking Dead' is a great show. It's a one-of-a-kind series, well, was before all the imitators piled in on the scene, but pretty much TWD has proven that you can take a disgusting subject like zombies and if you pepper it with great writing, the people will come. AKA, if you build it, they will come.
And up until this season we've always had a great adversary for the group as they try to survive the fall of humanity.
But this season we've been seeing nothing but personal stories, mostly skipping over the group dynamic and focusing on individuals this season... so far.
And to some degree, that's fine. It's like a mix up of the presentation to keep us on our toes. But this time around, I am more keenly aware of this mix up because of this Glenn bullshit.
SPOILERS will be ambling or shuffling in about here.
According to the fans of the comic book, Glenn should have died already. So he's on borrowed time.
But as the show has been proving, they're doing the Marvel Comics stunt and changing things up just enough to keep to the core of the franchise but keeping it lively for the TV landscape.
Some examples are that Rick should have lost his hand by now. Glenn should be dead. (I was expecting him to die last season actually, from what I've heard.)
And a few other things...
So the show is mixing it up.
But to keep Glenn fans in the dark is starting to tread on my patience.
Now there have been reports of the actor who portrays Glenn being seen on set, and that's all fine and dandy, but that does not promise anything, one way or the other.
So in the meantime, enjoy being abused by AMC. I'm not, but what are we going to do, boycott this shit? They know we can't, so AMC will do what it wants.
And that's that.
