Despite American Idol having had their worse season premiere ever, as they go into their final season, there's a weird word going around that Fox execs are asking staff to call this last season of American Idol it's "farewell season," not it's "final season."
What's up with that?
Fox has confirmed that this is the final season of Idol... on Fox.
Which has me wondering if some other network will pick up this neutered version of Idol.
Neutered because since Simon Cowell left, it's been nothing but nice, kissy, kissy judges that don't have a mean bone in their body. BORING! Viewers loved it when contestants got upset, cried, vented, etc..

They've renewed Empire and Scream Queens
