George Lucas Petition, TEEN TITANS Show Dead, Upcoming TV Cancellations

If you are drinking something, put it down. If you are standing, you might want to sit. Good. Why? You might get a good laugh at the idea that fans have started a petition to let George Lucas back in the saddle for directing Star Wars Episode IX.

The petition says that director Colin Trevorrow is not suited to helm ep IX and that letting Lucas direct would be the best farewell ever. I am going out on a limb and thinking that the petition authors aren't a series of successful script writers whose content appear on the silver or small screen. Just a guess.

So while these well-meaning folks want Lucas back in the seat, I have to wonder that after calling Disney "white slavers" in an interview, and his not agreeing with the direction the multi-billion company went with this latest flick, well, I'm not sure I would hold my breath on this one.

Then there's this:

With the billions of folks on the internet, the petition, at the time I wrote the draft for this piece, and a few days later, the number of supporters grew from 1,200 to over 15,000 supporters. 15k out of billions of internet surfers, at this point, is statistically rather insignificant. Still, there are supporters of this idea out there.  Though, again, apparently these folks missed those prequels that so many people were barfing all over themselves about.

Seriously, how do people lose their grip and call the biggest mouse in the world a white slaver? HOW?

If you were waiting for TNT's live-action Teen Titans show, stop holding your breath.  They bailed on the idea.

Oh, wait... it's "still in development," despite the news/rumors being more than a year old.

Development... is code to placate fans to help them deal with the idea it ain't happening but still giving them some form of hope. Development is the place that the blank sheet of paper goes that only has a title and no one is picking it up to scribble on.

But that's just my opinion. What do I know, I'm just a guy scribbling into a blog.

CMT is ending Party Down South, with its upcoming fifth season being its last.

Season five premieres on January 28th, but there will be a mini-marathon of season four starting on Jan 23rd, on CMT.

Season 7 of Rizzoli & Isles is going to be its last season of the female dynamic duo. But what's confusing the crap out of me is that it is still performing well for TNT network, pulling in 11 million viewers, on average!

WTH?

I'm guessing they're going to try and go out on top rather than burn out and become a jaded memory.
