For those of you who can't get enough tongue-in-cheek action from Syfy's Sharknado franchise, well, Syfy and The Asylum are pulling hard to milk as much fun and funds as they can out of the premise.
Syfy sent out a press release announcing that Sharknado 5 is on its way, with filming already having begun.
Ian Ziering and bionic Tara Reid will be reprising their roles.
But this time around, the movie will be filmed in foreign countries, to support the new story line:
"With much of North America lying in ruins, the rest of the world braces for the inevitable — a global sharknado. Fin Shepard (Ziering) and his family must put a stop to this disaster before Earth is completely obliterated."
No premiere date has been given, but industry experts are suggesting a July premiere date, since the last four aired during that month in previous years.

John Wick: Chapter 2 is coming to theaters on February 10th. The director, Chad Stahelski is already looking at a third John Wick film, plus, the idea of a prequel is rattling around in everyone's head. And in such a way, that Lionsgate is considering making a TV show based around the prequel story to Wick.
Depending on the sequel, I think I'm down for this gun-porn franchise pumping out a trilogy of Wick films.
A TV show... maybe. We'll see.
Right now Training Day is premiering (tonight), which is based on the original film. So we'll see how things work there. It's not undoable. Heck, the floundering Divergent film series is headed to TV with their final film. Or so they hinted at in previous months.
We'll see.
