Edge of Tomorrow sequel rumors, The Strain premiere date, American Idol gets a new lease on life, Seacrest news and Snapchat is what???

They say that the Edge of Tomorrow Sequel Reportedly Looking Good; Director Doug Limen is reportedly saying that Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are eager to return to their roles and he even says they have a title for the sequel, Live Die Repeat and Repeat. He claims that it would not be if it happens, but when, as if it's a certain thing. Except... if it were, why aren't they filming then? Just saying.

FX announced the fourth season premiere of The Strain will be returning on July 16th. This fourth season will be its last. And to be honest, if you read the books, well, aside from ratings, it makes sense to end it now.
What I was wondering, was if the ratings were good, how in the bloody hell would they actually keep this series going? Just how much useless banter and filler could they have come up with?

American Idol gets a second life when it returns to ABC, after having been dumped by FOX. There's a reason FOX dumped it, but I'm guessing ABC thinks they can revamp it enough to be another viable show in their lineup for the 2017-18 season. This will be ABC's umpteenth attempt at cranking out a singing contest series that has legs. And of course, ABC is pumping it up, saying, "American Idol on ABC… that has a nice ring to it. Idol is an entertainment icon, and now it will air where it belongs, in ABC’s lineup of addictive fan favorites alongside Dancing With The Stars and The Bachelor." Huh, I wonder if we'll start seeing cross-pollination with those shows too?

Ryan Seacrest really can play the game! He's been announced as the permanent co-host on Live, with Kelly Ripa. His game face announcement said, "Not only is Kelly Ripa one of the most talented live hosts in broadcast TV, she’s also become a very dear friend to me over the years. It’s consistently been my privilege and pleasure to work alongside Kelly with all her incredible talents, charm and humor – whether hosting the Disney Christmas Day Parade special with her a decade ago or guest co-hosting alongside her on ‘Live,’ it’s always just been easy and fun to share a set with her, and we have a blast," said Seacrest. "I've been so fortunate in my career to be a part of some incredible TV programs, and I’m excited to join daytime’s top entertainment talk show, and most important, I couldn’t think of anyone I’d rather share this new chapter with than Kelly Ripa – she’s a dream broadcast partner, and I can’t wait to start." He's good!

I just saw that Snapchat was trying to roll out a new, original TV series, as they look to pair up with A+E Networks, NBCUniversal, ABC, Turner, ESPN, CBS and 21st Century Fox, to broadcast three-to-five-minute minisodes.
