Office Christmas Party stars Jason Bateman, Olivia Munn, T.J. Miller, Jennifer Aniston, Kate McKinnon, Courtney Vance and more in a film directed by Josh Gordon & Will Speck (The Switch, Blades of Glory).
When the uptight CEO (Jennifer Aniston) tries to close her hard-partying brother's branch, he (T.J. Miller) and his Chief Technical Officer (Jason Bateman) must rally their co-workers and host an epic office Christmas party in an effort to impress a potential client and close a sale that will save their jobs.
Usually when you hit up a comedy flick, there's the funny stuff, then the serious stuff, and then, the serious resolution. But this flick comes out of the gate with moments and quips of levity that are actually not overdone. And this comedic pacing continues throughout the entire story.
Bateman is Bateman, with just enough serious tinged with sardonic humor, while Miller wasn't quite his usual self, but that's a good thing, because sometimes he can go on and on and get old fast in a film, but not so in this flick. Aniston was the serious trope in the film, but she pulled it off perfectly.
All in all, Office Christmas Party served up the perfect amount of fun for an evening. IMDb users gave it a 5.8 but I think that for a comedic platform, it served it's dish of humor wonderfully and it should have had at least a 6.5. But that's just me.
