Havoc (2025) Movie Review

HAVOC movie review

The Netflix film, Havoc cast includes Tom Hardy, Timothy Olyphant, Forest Whitaker, Jessie Mei Li and a bunch more...

"After a drug deal gone wrong, a bruised detective must fight his way through the criminal underworld to rescue a politician's estranged son, unraveling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city."

It's written and directed by Gareth Evans. (Gangs of London, Apostle, Killers)

Havoc is a gritty cop film, where there are no good guys, just questionable good guys, the middle ground street crooks and the crime bosses wrangling it all together.

This gritty story is engaging and culminates in one heck of a really big, gory gun battle where I lose track of who's who...  So there's about five primary characters, with Hardy and Olyphant being on opposite sides... and I just wait until all is said and shot... or done.

---

The film got a 6.2 on IMDb, 67% on Rotten Tomatoes and that feels about right, with Olyphant and Hardy not disappointing in their usual character portrayals.

There's two particular scenes where you can see most of the budget for gore was spent, but overall, Havoc does not suck as a time-killer, especially if you like the leading cast.
