The Good Neighbor, directed by Stephan Rick, is a film about unbalanced fiends and Americans in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The budding friendship between two very different neighbors takes a tragic turn when David (Luke Kleintank) runs over a young woman and causes her death. But his new "friend," Robert, (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), who was with him, convinces him she's dead and to leave the scene.
Throughout the film, we watch David dealing with work, a budding romance (with the victim's sister no less) and this questionable friendship with this neighbor.
It wasn't his plan to spark up a relationship with the sister, but it happened nonetheless through shared grief. That and dealing with all the small, insidious issues that Robert brings up.

The film is a slow build that slowly pays out in dividends with each turn and twist of the story. I can't say there were any big plot surprises, but you do get some emotional satisfaction as events pan out.
Though to be honest, it was a good ending, but I think I would have loved a slightly better ending than we were given. But hey, it is what it is.
